First TEC Experience: A group of adults from Northwest Iowa that were involved with the Cursillo Movement heard about this weekend event that was similar to the experience of Cursillo, except geared for teenagers called TEC - Teens Encounter Christ. We decided to ride to Owatonna and observe TEC #8 closing of Southern Minnesota. On our way home we said to each other that "we will be accountable to God if we don't get this program going in Northwest Iowa". And here we are today ready to start TEC #55. It was a very memorable closing for me. I remember knowing inside that I wanted my children to attend a weekend like that. God used the program then, and He is still using it today. I then worked TEC #9 in Rochester, MN. and confirmed in my mind that there needed to be a NW Iowa TEC program. I remember being awe struck listening to the students praying in the wheat room. I had never heard "prayer" that was as personal as that. The whole experience forced me to re-evaluate my own faith walk and prayer life. It was very good for me.
